Outcomes Research Fellowship
This Fellowship will be structured as a two-year program of study and reseach, with a special emphasis on observational research design. Starting July 1, 2010., the Fellowship includes an academic component designed to provide the fellow with advanced skills which complement those not received in prior training.
Course selection will be dependent on the fellow's past experience and training and will be coordinated with the Fellowship Co-directors. Available training includes: cost-benefit analysis, epidemiology and pharmacoeconomics. Part of the first year and fully the second year of fellowship will be dedicated to research with faculty and staff at the University of Michigan's various schools and the University of Michigan Health System. The fellowship Co-Directors and additional mentors will oversee the fellow's research activity.
Fellowship Co-Directors include Dean Smith at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, James Stevenson, at the College of Pharmacy and Director of Pharmacy Services - University of Michigan Health System, Mark Fendrick at University of Michigan Medical School, and Constance McLaughlin-Miley from Abbott.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must hold a post-graduate health related degree, most usually in science, medicine public health or pharmacy. Fellows must be permanent residents or US citizens. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
A competitive annual salary is offered based upon the fellow's postgraduate training. Health insurance, tuition, and relocation expenses are provided. Additionally, travel to one national meeting per year is funded.
