PGY2 Residency In Informatics/Technology
The Department of Pharmacy Services at the University of Michigan
Hospitals and Health Centers is recruiting applicants for a one-year
ASHP accredited PGY2 Residency in Informatics/Technology.
The specialty residency will begin July 1, 2010.. The residency program
director is Scott McCreadie, Pharm.D., MBA. In order to develop
an expert level of competency in informatics and technology, the
resident will be provided with experience in:
Informatics/Technology Practice: The resident will be exposed to many areas
of informatics and technology including technology essentials, medication
safety, data warehousing and mining, capital budgeting, project management,
vendor relations, physician order entry, decision support, integration
of systems, and innovation in technology.
Research and Publications: Projects will be assigned to develop research skills and administrative leadership.
Teaching:
Teaching opportunities include precepting pharmacy residents and
students, and development and presentation of pharmacy continuing
education programs.
The informatics
residency program follows the outcomes, goals and objectives for
ASHP-accredited programs.
Minimum qualifications
include an advanced pharmacy degree. A PGY1 residency or ASHP-approved
equivalent experience is required. Demonstrated knowledge, interest,
and experience in the area of information technology is required.
The application deadline is January 8, 2010. Residents will
be selected via the match process.
