PGY2 Residency In Pharmacy Informatics

The Department of Pharmacy Services at the University of Michigan
Hospitals and Health Centers is recruiting applicants for a one-year
ASHP accredited PGY2 Residency in Pharmacy Informatics.
The specialty residency will begin July 1, 2012. In order to develop
an expert level of competency in informatics and technology, the
resident will be provided with experience in the following areas:
Informatics/Technology Practice: The resident will be exposed to many areas
of informatics and technology including technology essentials, medication
safety, data warehousing and mining, capital budgeting, project management,
vendor relations, physician order entry, decision support, integration
of systems, and innovation in technology.
Research and Publications: Projects will be assigned to develop research skills and administrative leadership.
Teaching:
Teaching opportunities include precepting pharmacy residents and
students, and development and presentation of pharmacy continuing
education programs.
The informatics
residency program follows the outcomes, goals and objectives for
ASHP-accredited programs.
Minimum qualifications
include a Pharm.D. degree or equivalent, completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency or ASHP-approved
equivalent experience, and demonstrated knowledge, interest,
and experience in the area of information technology. Residents will be selected via the match process.
